Zoe’s & Odin’s third litter has come and gone! They were all super cute and all were reserved before their go-home date of April 26-28, 2024. You can see them all here to get an idea of how adorable they were. If you are interested in a Boise Golden puppy, you can get on our contact list for our next litter or even reserve one today. Raised in a home with ❤︎

We aren’t a big breeder! In fact, that is part of our philosophy of breeding. We believe dogs were meant to be companions for people, so we only want to have and raise dogs WITH people! So, no big kennels here! No dogs who are bred and then shipped off when they are done breeding. No dogs living in our garage or shed. Only dogs who are our pets and who live with us (or a guardian family!), in our house(s), sharing life together!

That is great news for you! Our puppies are born and raised in our house. When they are not sleeping or eating, they are roaming our house or our back yard (with a family member watching them of course!), and learning how to have new experiences, interact with people and other animals, and enjoy this great world!

That also means we raise them like we would want them raised if they were going to be our forever dogs! In addition to all the health screenings that we do prior to breeding to ensure these will be healthy dogs, we try to train your puppy as much as possible, as early as possible.

  • We do ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and ESI (Early Scent Introduction) with all our puppies, both of which are shown to increase the lifespan of a dog and increase their cognitive awareness (how smart they are!).

  • We trim nails regularly and touch them while eating to train against food aggression. They get regular outings, so they are introduced to many people, noises, and sounds. We also give them stimulation through many new noises and experiences at our house (they are all used to the vacuum!)

  • We work on “manding” with all puppies and other command training.

  • We begin the process of potty training (many are almost totally trained by go-home time).

  • We give them love and much, much, more!

If you are interested, we are always happy to talk more about our dogs and our goals in breeding and raising great puppies. Contact us any time!

Boise Goldens Went Viral!

Who would have imagined that eleven puppies staring out of their pen at 6AM in the morning would go viral? Well, maybe just EVERY DOG LOVER EVER! They are so stinking cute!

  • Yes, they really are all standing there on their own.

  • Nope, no one staged it. This is what every morning is like.

  • Yes, there was no poop in the pen first thing in the morning (feedings at 6AM, 12PM, and 6PM and lots of play and potty outside before bed!).

  • Yes, the little guy in the back—Stanley—is super polite and cute!

  • Yes, those are custom Adrian Pearsall style couches in the background. (Way go to M&M Creative Upholstery!)

Why “English” Golden Retrievers?

It is important for any reputable breeder to acknowledge that there is only ONE AKC recognized breed called a Golden Retriever. That is it! All dogs that carry the Golden Retriever name are one breed. However, due to the popularity of the breed, and the fact that there is a huge ocean between the main breeding arenas for Golden Retrievers (the United States and Europe), there have been distinctions that have developed over time between the American lineage and the European lineage. And some of these distinctions can mean a big difference for you as a dog owner!

What are often called “English Golden Retrievers” or “English Creams” are usually dogs from the European lineage in contrast to the “American” Golden Retriever lineage. You can learn more about the general distinction between English & American Goldens here.

Sadly, some people have decided the “white” or “cream” color is what is important and have focused only on that aspect of the lineage. A good breeder will NEVER breed solely for color. While it is true that this lineage tends to have a lighter color, what is more important is several of the genetic and temperamental aspects of this lineage.

The European lineage has several advantages both in genetics and behavior. Overall, the European lineage has a lower risk of cancer, hip-dysplasia, and other genetic issues (there has largely been better oversight in European countries of their breeding programs than in the United States). Additionally, the European lineage is known for their “off-switch", an ability to play when you want to play, and be your snuggle-buddy when you want to chill. You can learn more about English Golden Retrievers here.

We have fallen in love with this breed and this particular lineage and would love to see more English Golden Retrievers in good homes!

Meet Our Dogs

  • Zoe

Zoe is our sweet mama dog, always wanting someone to love and look over. You will usually find her with her head on your lap and paw gently nudging you to pet her. She loves to run and, fetch, but has that wonderful English Golden “off-switch” when we are ready to sit and rest a bit!

  • Pax

Pax is our beloved youngest child, and the reason why dog breeding can be very expensive! Hailing from Romania, Pax is a fantastic example of a European Golden Retriever but his hips aren’t good enough for breeding, so he is the fun uncle now to all the puppies who he loves playing with!

  • Ami

Ami is our old man: the first English Golden Retriever we purchased and who made us fall in love with the breed. He is gentle, happy, always patient with a small child poking in his mouth or ears. He loves toys with squeakers, and always finds a way to get them out, an will even share with the puppies!

I can find a puppy cheaper than these!

Maybe! But like anything else in life, you usually get what you pay for. We believe in the way we raise our puppies and believe that a well-bred, cared-for, and trained puppy will make for a much happier experience for both the dog and owner. There are many things that go into being a responsible breeder, and it isn’t cheap. We are definitely not getting rich from breeding dogs—we do it for the love of this breed and to bring enjoyment to others in owning a great dog. Whether you purchase one of our puppies or from someone else, it may help you to learn more about how responsible breeders work, their costs, and things you should be asking other breeders you are talking to.

Step 2:
Approved! General Reservation or Contact List?

Yay! You are approved for a Boise Goldens puppy! Are you ready to commit to this litter and reserve a puppy? Getting on our General Reservation List requires a non-refundable (generally-see below for exceptions), non-transferable deposit of $500 (five-hundred dollars) and secures your order for a spot on our Gender Reservation List at week two. If you aren’t ready to commit yet or want a specific gender, our Contact List is a free way for an approved applicant to be notified before the general public when this litter is open for Gender Reservations at two weeks old.

Step 3:
Gender Reservation List

At the two-week-old mark we open up our Gender Reservation List where approved applicants can reserve an available gender slot for picking a specific puppy at week six. Our General Reservation List people get first selection of the available gender (in order of the list). If we still have puppies available after the General Reservation List has selected, new applicants can reserve an available male or female puppy with a $500 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. At this point you are guaranteed a puppy (barring acts of God) of your desired gender from this litter!

Step 4:
Puppy Selection

At six weeks old we will have completed temperament testing and early training, and we will work with you to match the perfect puppy for you! By now we have spent lots of time with each puppy and are able to help give you our recommendation of a specific puppy to fit your family and lifestyle. The choice is ultimately yours.

Step 5:

Puppy pick up day is a very special day.  We will be contacting you and scheduling a time that works best for you to pick up your new puppy.  We will then provide you with a "puppy folder" and all sorts of other wonderful information and items to get you off to the best start possible.  Your puppy will be freshly bathed, started on all sorts of training, and ready to become a part of your family!
