Amicus: Friend to All

Old Man Ami

Amicus = friend (Latin)

Ami is our old man: the first English Golden Retriever we purchased and who made us fall in love with the breed. He loves to go anywhere with “his people” and hops into the car with gusto! He is gentle, super smart, and always patient with a small child looking in his mouth or ears. His favorite days are when we host groups of friends at our house and he gets even more love and attention. He also loves trips to the mountains where he can hike off leash, explore, and swim in the lake. He loves toys with squeakers, and always finds a way to get them out!

Breeding Standards

We take breeding dogs seriously, as we do not want you to have problems with your dog in later years, nor do we want to introduce/continue genetic problems with the breed through our program. Our dogs, both the sire and dam, are screened for multiple different criteria. Feel free to review the information below and ask any questions you may have about any dog. See our section about English Goldens to see more information about the breed, standard, common health issues, and certifications.

  • Born: July 28, 2014
    Weight: 90lbs

    Sire: Jazz Rock Butterfly
    Dam: Radiant Flicka

  • Ami is just a pet. He has never been bred nor did we intend to breed when we first purchased/adopted him. He has been wonderful, but we have never tested his genetics because he won’t be siring any offspring.
